While Jennifer Moss’s forthcoming Why Are We Here? covers a wide range of workplace culture topics, we found her advice on engaging and including older workers to be particularly insightful. Citing research showing that nearly a third of people would continue working after age 70 if they had more flexible hours, Moss recommends offering "phased retirement options, allowing older workers to gradually downshift gears instead of the all-or-nothing experience of a typical retirement.” 

She gives a few examples of what that might look like in practice:
